Connecticut Children’s, while located in Hartford, is a powerful presence in communities across the state. Thanks to our many community outreach programs and the dedication of our physicians and staff, children and families throughout Connecticut are healthier, safer and better informed about issues that affect the quality of their lives every day.
This isn’t by accident. Connecticut Children’s leadership long ago made a conscious decision to serve the larger community beyond our walls. We take an active, systematic approach to identifying community need and developing initiatives to address them. We encourage our staff to lend their expertise to community organizations and programs. We advise policy-makers on community needs. We care for sick and injured children without regard to their families’ ability to pay. And we educate the health care professionals who will care for Connecticut’s children for years to come.
